Peggy Ann Wonderly

Peggy Ann Wonderly, 62, of Benkelman, NE, passed away May 4, 2026, at Dundy County Hospital.

Memorial services will be May 30, 2026, at Jones Family Funeral Home in Wray 4pm-6pm.

Peggy A. Wonderly was born on August 8, 1963, in Albion, NE, to Thomas and Veronica (Chlopek) Shotkoski. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, Nebraska. She attended elementary school at Vohres Valley District #12 and graduated from St. Edward High School.

Peggy grew up on a farm outside of St. Edward, Nebraska. She was married to her first husband, and they were blessed with two children Bradley and Nicole. On July 24, 1993, she married the love of her life Jim Wonderly, and with this union gained two more children Josh and Julie. Peggy and Jim made their home in Wray Colorado.

At Peggy’s time of death, she worked at Dundy County Hospital. Peggy had a true passion and love for the healthcare field. She was working hard doing college classes at the time of her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, to complete her LPN. This was a dream of hers.

Peggy’s hobbies included crocheting, hunting, baking (especially her well known breads), spending time with her family, and loving on her beloved dogs Duke and Gigi.

Peggy is survived by her children: Josh(Ashley) Wonderly, Brad(Nikki) Spicknall, Julie Box, Nicole Spicknall; grandchildren Alexis, Natalie, and Eli Wonderly, Makinzi, Kaden, Cara, Kolten, Landen, Landyen, and Graclyen Spicknall, Tripp and Izzy Box, Haley Cook, Brandon and Bree Sotelo, brothers Ken Shotkoski, Dan (Madeline) Shotkoski, sister Pat Luther, sister in law Mindy(Leonard) Whomble, brother in law Tony (Jeanette) Wonderly; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peggy’s work family is also left to reflect on all their memories together.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband Jim Wonderly; sisters: Susan Shotkoski, and Theresa Loughman; brothers Robert Shotkoski, and William Shotkoski; nieces: Tiffany Gasper, and Ashley Minturn; nephew Logan Shotkoski.
