Myron Lee Bracelin passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on June 14, 2026.
Born on January 3, 1938, in St. Francis, Kansas, Myron was the third of six children born to Harold and Marie (Scoby) Bracelin. He spent his childhood helping his parents on the family wheat farm, where he developed the strong work ethic and practical nature that would define his life.
Myron graduated from St. Francis Community High School in 1956. Shortly thereafter, he married his first love, Ruth Goodale. Together they welcomed two children, Deborah and James. Following Ruth's passing, Myron found love again and married Millie Byers.
In 1966, Myron purchased Wray Auto Parts, Inc., a business that became both his livelihood and his passion. He dedicated nearly six decades to the store, continuing to work there until 2024. His tireless work ethic was matched only by his unique organizational style. What others saw as stacks of papers reaching toward the ceiling, Myron saw as a” system." He knew exactly where everything was, and moving anything was done at one’s own risk.
A devoted member of the Wray community, Myron served as a council member for the City of Wray, was a board member of the Wray Gun Club, and dedicated many years of service to the Wray Volunteer Fire Department.
Known as a man of few words, Myron was remembered for his quick wit, crooked smile, and steady presence. He enjoyed the simple things in life and pursued his interests with enthusiasm. He loved shooting and hunting prairie dogs and coyotes, and trap shooting was a particular passion. He made several trips to compete in the Grand American World Trapshooting Championships in Vandalia, Ohio. He also enjoyed stock-car racing, sponsoring a stock car, and cheering alongside Kobe at races.
One of Myron's favorite daily traditions was gathering with friends for coffee, where stories were shared and local news was exchanged. He was rarely seen without his trademark attire—a plaid snap-button shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots—and he always carried $100 in five twenty-dollar bills tucked into his front pocket. Though never a big eater, he enjoyed snacking on Little Debbie Honey Buns and washing them down with a Pepsi-Cola.
Myron is survived by his daughter, Deb Kerbs-Lungwitz and husband Tracy; his son, James Bracelin and wife Annette; his stepdaughters, Patricia Krehmeyer and Tonna Dauel and husband Jon; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating Myron's life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Wray, Colorado, with interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wray Gun Club.
