Jimmy Milton Sharp

Jimmy Milton Sharp passed away July 12, 2026 at the age of 85.

Jim was born June 10, 1941 in Tulia, TX. He graduated from Hart Hight School, shortly after graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Scarlett Beeson.

In 1965 they moved to a farm and ranch in Idalia, Colorado. They farmed until Scarlett’s passing in 2003. To this union were born 3 children: Blain, Tyka and Ken.

After Scarlett’s passing, he sold the farm and moved to Burlington. Shortly after this he reunited with an old high school friend, Phillis Hindman and they were married. They remained in Burlington until his passing.

Jim was a member of the Burlington Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and song leader for many years. He enjoyed singing in the community, welding, woodworking, roping and helping people in need. He has a soft spot for children and Veterans.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Scarlett Sharp; father, Milton Sharp; mother, Willie Sharp and brother, Don Sharp.

He leaves behind son, Blain and Carrie Sharp; daughter, Tyka and Tom Rico; son, Ken and Karen Sharp. Grandchildren, Casie (Chris) Kline, Kelly (Melanie) Sharp, Dusty (Tabi) Walters, Tyra (Jory) Drager, Andrew Sharp, Matthew Sharp and Luke Sharp; great-grandchildren, Brianna (Chad) Tracy, Jamie Sharp, Kameron, Karsyn and Kadyn Sharp, Trent, Emily, Treigh and Savannah Walters, Kaden and Koda Drager along with various step-kids, grand-kids and Great grand-kids.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, August 7, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Burlington.
