Miss Dana Lynn Rose, age 67, passed away February 11, 2026. Dana was born in Elgin, Illinois on August 21, 1958, to William and Janice Rose. Later the family moved to Sedalia, Missouri.
Dana joined the Wray High School teaching staff right out of college in 1980, teaching Chemistry and Physics. In 1987, she made a switch to the Buchanan Middle School as a Science and Social Studies teacher and was there until her retirement. Or shall we say partial retirement. Not being quite ready to give up the kids, she continued to substitute teach until finally retiring in 2025. Dana was known for her dedication to her students and her love of learning.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Janice Rose. Those left to miss her include her brother, William Scott Rose and her sister, Kelly Anne Rose; good friends Ginger Weaver and family, the Houston families; Wray librarians; and many teachers and former students.
A Celebration of Miss Dana Rose’s life will be held at the 55 & Over Club, on Wednesday April 8, from 4-6pm.
Memorials can be left to:
Friends of Wray Public Library or the Manna Pantry
